Dr. Juan Francisco de Paz Santana

Biography

Juan Francisco de Paz Santana, PhD in Computer Science and Automation from the University of Salamanca in 2010. Technical Engineer in Computer Science and Systems (2003), Computer Science Engineer (2005) and Diploma in Statistics (2007) from the University of Salamanca. He is currently professor and department director in the Department of Computer Science and Automation at the University of Salamanca. He has also completed the Master’s Degree in Systems Development for Electronic Commerce and the Master’s Degree in Digital Animation. He has obtained different academic awards such as the Grade Award, Doctorate Award and in other areas such as a prize from SUN Microsystems and another from the Junta de Castilla y León. He currently works in the field of distributed systems based on multi-agent systems, Artificial Intelligence, bioinformatics, ambient intelligence, internet of things, among others. He has participated in 48 research projects at regional, national and international level. He is co-author of more than 180 articles published in various national and international journals, workshops and symposia, 50 of these publications in journals with impact index. He has organized numerous conferences and has also been a reviewer in different international conferences and journals in the area of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. He is currently the director of the Department of Informatics and Automation, director of the ESAL Recognized Research Group, member of the IBSAL group and partner of AEPIA. Evaluator of ANECA since 2010 and FONCyT.
